There are two modes of application: (1) By Post, and (2) Online.
(1) Application by Post:

to download Postal Application Form. Fill the form in duplicate
and mail both the copies along with one set of enclosures and
Demand Draft (for application fee) on or before the specified date
as given in the table of Important Dates on the
address given in the Application Form. One copy will be returned to
the applicant indicating Application Number. This should be brought
along for appearing in Written Test and/ or Interview. Detailed
advertisement is published in Employment News in the first week of
December 2007.
(2)Online Application: The online application is
accessible by clicking on the icon Online Application Form.
Follow the instructions below for submitting online application.
Application Fee:
A non-refundable application-processing fee of
Rs. 100/-
(Rs. one hundred) for an online application and
Rs. 200/-
(Rs. two hundred) for a postal application is chargeable from the
applicants in General and OBC categories. SC/ST/Physically Challenged applicants and
Dependents of Defence Personnel Killed in Action (DODPKIA) are
exempted from payment of application fee. The application fee is to
be paid by crossed Demand Draft (DD) drawn in favour of
Accounts Officer, BARC,
and payable at Mumbai .
The applicant should write his/her name and address at the back of
the DD and retain the bank receipt and photocopy of the DD.
Do not staple DD .
It is suggested that applicants
should keep details of demand draft ready with them before accessing
the application form online.
SOME GUIDELINES for FILLING APPLICATION FORM
(i)
Under choice of different schemes in the application form, an OCES
scheme is indicated by OCES followed by name of the training school
from Table-3. Choices for DGFS are
indicated by DGFS followed by name of the unit where MTech project
is to be carried out and where the Fellow will be placed on
appointment.
(ii)
Allocation of scheme will be on the basis of selection interview
merit and choices given by the applicant subject to
available vacancies.
(iii)
Choices given for those schemes, which are not applicable as per
Table-3, will be ignored.
(iv)
Choices for DGFS will be cancelled (retaining the options given for
OCES) if information about MTech admission, with specialization mentioned, is not submitted by
July 10, 2008.
(v)
Option of RSE is available only to those Physics and Chemistry
discipline applicants who fulfill the eligibility criteria for RSE.
(vi)
OCES/DGFS applicants in Science Disciplines who are applying before
Jan 20, 2008 for appearing in the Written Test and are desirous of
submitting GATE-2008 score should mail a photocopy of the GATE Score
by April 10, 2008 indicating their OCES/DGFS-2008 Application
Number. As a better alternative both Mode-1 & Mode-2
applicants are advised to enter their GATE score online
through this website by April 15, 2008.
(vii)
All Engineering discipline applicants appearing in GATE-2008 should apply after declaration of GATE-2008 result.
INSTRUCTIONS for SUBMITTING ONLINE APPLICATION
- Fill the online application form and click the Submit button.
Once the form is submitted, you will not get chance to revert.
- After successful submission, you will be presented with a Net-Form bearing an
Application Number.
- Take a print out of the 'Net-Form' on an A4 size (~8.3"x11.7") paper and make a photocopy.
Paste a photograph both on original and on the photocopy and sign across it.
Ensure to put your signature also in space provided under the title
'Declaration'.
- Mail the Original Application Form at the address provided on the Net-Form along with the enclosures
within 5 days of submission through Net.
- On-Line application becomes valid only on receipt of the signed Net-Form along with all relevant enclosures.
Receipt will be acknowledged only through this website.
- Retain the photocopy of the Net-Form for bringing along while appearing for
Written Test and/ or Interview.
- Important Instructions for printing the Net-Form:
- Care has been taken to accommodate Net-form in a single page of printout under normal circumstances.
But it is advisable on part of the candidate to verify if the printout comes on a single page by checking print preview
of the Net-form. (Feature available in Netscape Navigator 4 onwards and IE 5.5 onwards)

- Internet Explorer, Set "Text Size" to medium in "View" menu bar

- The status of your application is posted on the Status Page accessible by clicking on the icon Status
- If you could not print your Net-Form in the first attempt,
you can Re-Order and Print the Net-Form any number of times through the Status Page.
- Do not submit/apply in duplicate.
